Join us on Saturday for our Christmas Eve service at 5pm! (No service Christmas Day)

SUNDAY WORSHIP

where do you meet?

We meet at Regis High School on the Upper East Side. There are two entrances to the school - we use the entrance on the 85th street, between Madison Avenue and Park Avenue.

What are your service times?

Our service is at 10:30am on Sunday and usually lasts around 90 minutes.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Wear what's comfortable. For a lot of people, that looks like jeans and a t-shirt or jeans and a collared shirt.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

We believe that gathering weekly as the church is one of the primary means by which we encounter God and are formed to become more like Christ. Here's what a typical Sunday looks like:

  • Everything we do in our service is shaped around the good news of Jesus Christ. Each week we praise and adore God, confess our sin, receive his forgiveness, and are sent out to live as Jesus' ambassadors in the world.

  • We sing old and new songs - a mix of hymns, gospel and folk tunes, and modern worship songs.

  • Each week we receive preaching that points us to the goodness of God and reminds us of what it means to follow Jesus.

  • As Christians, we take the Lord's Supper each week as a proclamation of his death until he returns (1 Cor. 11:26)

Is there anything for kids?

Yes! Apostles Kids classes are provided for children up to age 6, and kids are dismissed right before the sermon. All our childcare volunteers are background-checked, vetted, and trained to ensure a safe and secure church environment.

  • Beautiful Blessings (under 2): This class provides an opportunity for parents of little ones to drop them off with volunteers who will play with and pray over them for the duration of the service.

  • Loving Learners (ages 2-5): Each week, the kids will hear a lesson that is tied to the overall theme of what we’re learning as a church, do a craft, play games, and practice the current month’s memory verse.

SERVING

"For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” - Mark 10:45 (ESV)

As followers of Jesus, we believe that living in the way Jesus lived is where we find the greatest freedom and fulfillment. As Jesus has served us at great cost to himself, we seek to serve others out of the overflow of the love and grace we've received from him. While serving is a posture we carry in every area of our lives, there are two ways we seek to serve regularly as a church: outreach and Sunday volunteer teams.

Outreach

We want to see our neighbors and our neighborhoods experience the mercy and kindness of Jesus. To find out more about neighborhood outreach or to check out current opportunities, click the link below.

sunday volunteer teams

Serving on a Sunday volunteer team is one of the most tangible ways we can regularly serve one another as the body of Christ. From setup and teardown to kids ministry, media to connections, there are lots of opportunities to step in and serve. GIVING

Our God is a God of radical generosity. When the Apostle Paul wanted to encourage an urban church in a cultural forging global city to be people of radical generosity, he pointed them to this truth about God seen most clearly in the giving of His Son.

“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich.” – 2 Corinthians 8:9

Your giving fuels the mission of Apostles Church Uptown, allowing us to continue to form whole disciples of Jesus.
